How would you describe your music provision?

Berkhamsted is a school that highly values music and recognises that through engaging with it, pupils hone unique skills with lifelong benefits.

The school has excellent facilities to support both extra-curricular and classroom music making and these support and stimulate all our pupils regardless of their ability or musical experience.

Our fantastic team of 31 visiting specialist teachers provide some 500 individual lessons in school and we host regular exam session with ABRSM, Trinity and RockSchool to give an aim for those students who wish to take exams.

The musical community is very strong and is the result of a high quality, rich and vibrant range of regular clubs, concerts and activities running throughout the year.

There are chances for musicians to play in recitals, the school orchestra, get together with their friends and form groups for the Talent Show or the Proms in the Quad festival or volunteer to entertain some of the elderly residents in one of the local care homes. Our musicians can also enjoy participating in our Young Musician of the Year competition, major concerts and other high profile events.
